Once it has completed its analysis and information program, the Committee will determine whether or not to recommend, to the Minister of Community Development, that a referendum be held to allow residents of Cultus Lake Park to choose their preferred governance option. (Any change in governance, it should be noted, would require a referendum.)
Determining the "best" governance option for Cultus Lake Park is, to some degree, a subjective exercise. One person's view of what is "best" may be quite different from that of another. In forming positions, much will depend on how individuals choose to weigh the implications associated with the different options.
The Cultus Lake Park Governance Committee is neutral with respect to the options. The Committee's job is to make sure that residents get the information they need to fully understand what each option would mean for Cultus Lake Park. This section of the website will assist in this regard by exploring some of the implications, or "pros & cons", of the options.
Pros & cons will be presented once the Committee's analysis has been completed, later in the Spring.
