This section of the website presents the interim findings of the detailed impact analysis that the Committee is now conducting on the two Cultus Lake Park governance options.
The analysis focuses on the various local government services that are provided to Cultus Lake Park, including:
- Administration & General Government
- Bylaw Enforcement (Parks Patrol)
- Campgrounds
- Fire Services
- Local Roads
- Planning
- Police
- Sewage Collection & Treatment
- Water Supply & Distribution
For each service, the Committee will be preparing a Fact Sheet. Each Fact Sheet will describe the service as it is presently provided in Cultus Lake Park, and in the City of Chilliwack. Each Sheet will then respond to two questions:
- What changes to service cost, service governance and service delivery would occur as a result of a boundary extension that brought Cultus Lake Park into the City of Chilliwack?
- What changes to service cost, service governance and service delivery would occur without a boundary extension (i.e., under the Status Quo)?
In addition to the service-related Fact Sheets, the Committee will be preparing Sheets to address certain issues of importance to the study, namely:

- Land Tenure & Leases
- Local Government Taxation
- Other Reveue
- Restructure Assistance
All Fact Sheets will be completed during the first half of 2009. Individual Sheets will be posted here as soon as they are approved for release by the Committee. Each of the service-related Sheets, it should be noted, will contain financial and taxation impacts related specifically to the service in question. These impacts should be considered in conjunction with the impacts that will be presented in the other Fact Sheets. Costs or savings projected for one service may be offset by impacts projected elsewhere.
